Aviation Week has announced four University of Colorado Boulder aerospace students as winners of
Released in collaboration with the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), the annual list recognizes leading engineering students at universities across the USA and around the world.
The 2020 honorees includes more students from 兔子先生传媒文化作品 than any other university. The four winners are:
- Valerie Bernstein, aerospace PhD student (Advisor: Delores Knipp)
- Michelle Lin, aerospace and applied math undergraduate junior (Research advisors: Allison Anderson and David Klaus)
- Simon Shuham, aerospace master's, conferred Dec. 2019 (Advisor: Francisco L贸pez Jim茅nez)
- Gautham Viswaroopan, aerospace master's, conferred Dec. 2019 (Advisor: Bob Marshall)
The awards recognize students earning STEM degrees who are nominated by their universities on the basis of academic performance, civic contribution and research or design projects.
鈥淚 am very honored to be one of the 20 Twenties. My research in space architecture and habitat design is definitely in a nascent field in the greater aerospace engineering world, so seeing it recognized as a promising hub for future technology is exciting,鈥 said honoree Michelle Lin. 鈥淭he award also encourages me to keep giving back to my community, through the CU Women of Aeronautics and Astronautics organization, which I started last year, and through opportunities with CU Engineering and the BOLD Center.鈥
This year鈥檚 recognition program had qualified nominees from 49 different universities representing seven countries.
鈥淚 am thrilled to see the national recognition our outstanding students are receiving,鈥 said Brian Argrow, chair of the Ann and H.J. Smead Department of Aerospace Engineering Sciences. 鈥淭hey are all top notch and bring incredible passion and impressive technical skills. Each is on a fast track to making remarkable contributions to the aerospace field."
The winners will be honored during Aviation Week Network鈥檚 63rd Annual Laureates Awards March 12 at the National Building Museum, Washington, DC.
