Lecture: Astronauts experience isolation and confinement during missions, but also significant personal stressors before and after spaceflight. We will cover lessons from life in space and the implications for pandemic wellness. Lecture given by Katya Arquilla, PhD candidate and Lead TA.

Panel: Astronaut panel from our department’s Col. Jim Voss (STS-44, STS-53, STS-69, STS-101, ISS Expedition 2) and Rick Hieb (STS-39, STS-49, and STS-65) spoke about their personal experiences, shared strategies, and answered questions.

Workshop: Each of us have individual challenges. In this workshop, students had an opportunity in small cohorts to speak about their experiences and develop actionable plans to improve their wellness. We focused on strategies to increase resiliency and small, manageable goals to move forward. Led by Prof. Allie Anderson.
