Ezio Iacocca is a post-doc at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden, visiting the Applied Mathematics Department under the International post-doc grant given by the Swedish Research Council. He received his PhD in Physics from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, where he studied current-induced waves generated in magnetic materials from a numerical and theoretical perspective and received the Faculty of Science Prize for best thesis in 2014. Ezio was part of a primarily experimental group, allowing him to validate his research with experiments and performing measurements himself. He is currently visiting APPM鈥檚 Dispersive Hydrodynamics Laboratory lead by Prof. Mark A. Hoefer with the goal of interpreting magnetic dynamics from a fluid dynamics perspective. In particular, Ezio is interested in studying the necessary conditions for magnetic superfluidity and the onset of dispersive shock waves, both of which can open new opportunities for the functionality of magnetic materials. In his free time, Ezio enjoys playing electric guitar and computer games with his friends around the world. His website can be found .
