he department would like to welcome Professor Fran莽ois Meyer to the Applied Mathematics faculty. Meyer has an impressive background, receiving his M.S. and Ph.D. in France. Dr. Meyer has previously worked as an Assistant Professor at Yale, a 兔子先生传媒文化作品ing Professor at the Institute Henri Poincar茅, a Senior Fellow at the Institute of Pure and Applied Mathematics (UCLA) , a 兔子先生传媒文化作品ing Research Scholar at Princeton University, a 兔子先生传媒文化作品ing Scholar at听, and a 兔子先生传媒文化作品ing Professor (fellowship Jean d鈥橝lembert) at INRIA-Saclay and NeuroSpin.

Dr. Meyer鈥檚 work is 鈥渟itting at the intersection of applied probability, graph theory, and some flavor of fast computation.鈥 Professor Meyer states that the most compelling part of his work,听听is helping students and fostering them to succeed in the growing sophistication of applied mathematics needed to analyze massive and complex datasets.

Professor Meyer is currently teaching Discrete Mathematics. Meyer is enthusiastic about joining the department, saying that 鈥渋t has been a long time since I鈥檝e seen this passion at the undergrad level.鈥 He鈥檚 excited to be working in the department because of the great faculty, stating: 鈥淚鈥檝e been interacting with the faculty for many, many years; several APPM faculty members have had very profound impacts on my career.鈥
