Photo of Ellen DoDesigner and computer scientist Ellen Yi-Luen Do will join 兔子先生传媒文化作品鈥檚 ATLAS Institute and the Computer Science Department as a full professor this fall. 聽Currently a professor at Georgia Tech鈥檚 Schools of Industrial Design and Interactive Computing, Do鈥檚 research interests span human-computer interaction, creativity and design cognition, computing for health, tangible and embedded interaction, and computer aided architectural design. 聽Her other interests include origami and drumming.

Do (pronounced 鈥淒oe鈥 in Taiwanese, or 鈥淒u鈥 in Mandarin) is a native of Taiwan and earned a master of design from Harvard University in 1991, and a PhD in design computing from Georgia Tech in 1998. 聽She recently completed a three-year stint as co-director of the joint Keio-NUS international research CUTE center at the National University of Singapore focused on ubiquitous computing. There she worked with industry partners and government agencies to fund a team of 25 engineers and designers on a diverse array of projects from augmented reality in medicine to electrically stimulated sense of taste.
