Born in Grand Junction and raised in a small town in eastern Colorado, Scott joined the military right out of high school. After four years, he left the military and used the GI Bill to get a Bachelors degree in Environmental Design at CU in Boulder. His emphasis was in Architecture and he worked in the field for several years, but was not happy with how little design was associated with the work, so he spent a few years working several jobs including setting up and running CNC lathes and mills. This experience coupled with the using 3D printers and laser cutters peaked his interest and helped scratch the design itch, and ultimately led him to ATLAS and the Creative Technology and Design program at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú´«Ã½ÎÄ»¯×÷Æ·.
