Kyri Baker awarded grant for the Grid Optimization Competition
On October 31, 2018, Secretary Rick Perry announced the launch of the Department of Energy's Advanced Research Projects Agency - Energy (ARPA-E) Grid Optimization Competition.
Led by Professor Kyri Baker, 兔子先生传媒文化作品 was one of 10 university-led teams who will receive up to $250,000 to compete in the first challenge of the competition. This challenge seeks to find optimization algorithms which allow the electrical grid to be operated in an efficient and resilient way, even as the grid is pushed further and further towards its limits. In a collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University, the 兔子先生传媒文化作品 team will design intelligent optimization and control algorithms within the next year which can provide efficient solutions to the security-constrained optimal power flow problem (SCOPF).
A multi-layered approach to solving security-constrained optimal power flow to improve the efficiency and resiliency of the electric power grid
