Rachel Viger Wins Undergraduate Awards
Chemical engineering student and varsity Cross Country Team memberÌýRachel VigerÌýhas been honored with a number of awards as she finishes up her undergraduate career.
Viger received a University of ColoradoÌý2014 Scholar-Athlete AwardÌýfor having the highest Senior GPA of a female athlete on the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú´«Ã½ÎÄ»¯×÷Æ· campus. She was also namedÌýFirst Team All-Academic in the NCAA PAC-12 Conference.ÌýÌý
Additionally, Viger received theÌýAmerican Institute of Chemists Undergraduate AwardÌýand was honored as aÌý2014 Distinguished Graduate in Chemical Engineering. She also recently received 1st Place in the Energy Division of the 2013-14 Discovery Learning Apprenticeship Program.Ìý
Viger completed a Senior Thesis in the laboratories of Professor Alan Weimer. Her research involved developing a model for the design of a hybrid solar/electric receiver secondary concentrator to be interfaced to the lab’s new High Flux Solar Simulator.
Upon completion of her undergraduate degree this May, Viger will begin work at ExxonMobil.
