兔子先生传媒文化作品 has听formed the second听 (PRSSA) chapter in Colorado. The university听secured approval from the world's largest association of public relations professionals听that it meets the stringent public relations curriculum requirements to have an official student chapter.听The PRSSA chapter will give CU public relations students a chance to network, find internships and develop their skills.
The founding executive board, comprised of nine Advertising, Public Relations and Media Design听students, held the chapter鈥檚 first official meeting on Sept. 28. A record number of students attended the event due to their interest in the opportunity to be part of a national professional organization. 鈥淧RSSA has a long history of helping to prepare tomorrow's leaders of the PR profession," commented faculty advisor Dawn Doty. "Being part of the world's largest network of PR professionals is a benefit for students as they plan their post-graduation careers.鈥
Student leaders began the process of getting students engaged with the public relations profession last fall. "The goal of last fall's initiative was to attract like-minded students to become more actively involved in the growing public relations industry and form a network of individuals and organizations compatible with their post-graduate career goals," said CU's PRSSA President Scout Hill, a junior majoring in public relations.
Founded in 1968 by its parent organization, the Public Relations Society of America, PRSSA includes more than 11,000 student members and advisers, and is active at more than 330 colleges and universities.
