Why Ethnic Studies Matters: Compassion and Solidarity in Times of Strife

The purpose of this forum is multi-fold: to allow students, faculty and staff in the Department of Ethnic Studies and our allies to learn how to be allies and provide respectful support to the tribal activists and families in Standing Rock. In the second hour of the forum we will provide a space of empathy and support for those who feel afflicted by the election results in 2016, especially around issues of race, gender, and immigration status.

This forum will be facilitated by Dr. Danika Medak-Saltzman, Dr. Clint Carroll, Dr. Arturo J. Aldama, among other faculty in Ethnic Studies and allies across CU campus, including WRC & Prof. Chapin, the Law School.Ìý
