Steven Ouellette

Steve's undergrad degree is in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. Upon graduating, he was awarded a Thomas J. Watson Fellowship and traveled most of Western Europe studying medieval swords and sword making. He has a master's of engineering degree from the University of Colorado Boulder's Engineering Management Program, and has been an instructor there and at the Leeds School of Business. Steve has also been a full-time consultant since 1996 with the exception of four years as an internal consultant for the University of Colorado.
He has worked in a variety of industries including manufacturing, service, higher education, aerospace, and the military. His consulting practice includes helping clients create an integrated set of metrics for management, front-line autonomous continuous improvement systems, and strategic plans, as well as training in basic and advanced applied statistics. He has published two books, "Business Performance Excellence" (with Dr. Jeffrey Luftig) and "Galileo's Telescope," and is finishing up a third with the working title of "The Data-Driven Manager." Steve practices and teaches a non-violent martial art called aikido.
