Welcome, first-year Engineering Buffs!

We’re so excited to welcome you to the College of Engineering & Applied Science and to Engineering Connections.

In this weekly newsletter – in your inbox every Tuesday – you’ll find events, resources and more to help you take full advantage of the support available to you as a CU Engineering student.

Important reminder: If you haven't already, please visit the lobby of the Williams Village East building to check in for Engineering Launch. During check-in, you'll receive the schedule you'll need to follow for Launch orientation activities on Thursday.

‘CU’ soon for our community kickoff & class photo!

Thursday, Aug. 22. Noon-3 p.m., Will Vill lawn
Be part of a CU Engineering tradition! Since 2018, we’ve brought the first-year class together for a class photo. Join us Thursday for this year’s drone photoshoot and community kickoff party, complete with BBQ lunch, lawn games and more. Grab some food and meet your classmates, as well as the faculty and staff you’ll be working with throughout the year.

Tuesday, Sept. 3. 5-7 p.m., Will Vill East lobby
Foodie Tuesday is a weekly event organized by Engineering Connections. We provide food and opportunities for you to connect with peers, staff and campus departments.

For our first event, we’ll be serving up Cosmos pizza. Stop by and get to know the Engineering Connections staff! Gluten-free and vegan options will be available.

Tuesday, Sept. 13. 7-9 p.m., Will Vill East lobby
Interested in sharing your talents in a fun and laid-back environment? Here’s your chance! Whether you’re into music, poetry, dance or comedy, all are welcome! Your performance can range from 1-5 minutes, depending on number of acts.

Academic Success

��ý�Ļ��Ʒ the Academic Help Room in Will Vill East

Teaching staff and tutors are available right in Will Vill to assist in your applied math and computer science homework and questions! The Academic Help Room in Will Vill East (room E103, right across from the front desk) hosts hours each week to assist you:

Applied Math: Sundays through Thursdays, 5-9 p.m.
Hours will begin on Wednesday, Aug. 28. Closed on Sunday, Sept. 1.
Computer Science: Sundays, 1-5 p.m.
Hours begin on Sept. 8. There will also be midterm review session hours on Tuesdays from 1-5 p.m. on Oct. 1, Oct. 22 and Nov. 12.

The Academic Help Room is open to any student enrolled in CSCI and APPM courses!
