Hiring now for COSTEM Mentors

Join our College of Engineering ITL Program’s new Colorado Science Technology Engineering and Math (COSTEM) mentorship program to work with 6th and 7th grade students in Boulder and Longmont ─ providing weekly math and science tutoring, helping students explore hands-on engineering activities, and serving as a mentor for 1-2 small groups.

COSTEM mentors will also assist with a few K12 visits to the CU campus throughout the year and must complete mandatory training. Most COSTEM mentors will work ~ 5-10 hours weekly, with one 10 hr/wk position available for the lead mentor. In addition to mentoring a small group of students, the lead mentor will also coordinate schedules, organize supplies for both the COSTEM and TeachEngineering after-school engineering clubs and be the primary liaison between CU and the host schools/programs.

All COSTEM mentor positions require weekly availability from 3-5pm on Mondays and/or one other weekday (TBD) every week of the semester. Some evening meetings may be required.  A background check is required, and applicants must be Earn-Learn eligible (enrolled in College of Engineering and Applied Science and meet the GPA requirement—2.3 undergraduate, 2.7 graduate.) Work study-eligible students are encouraged to apply!
