Winter and springtime along the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains can bring volatile weather conditions. ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú´«Ã½ÎÄ»¯×÷Ʒ’s campus closure policy clarifies delays and closures caused by extreme weather, power outages and other emergencies. Here’s what campus community members need to know.

Reminder – use vacation leave by July 1, 2025 /fm/2023/12/04/reminder-use-vacation-leave-july-1-2025 Reminder – use vacation leave by July 1, 2025 Anonymous (not verified) Wed, 01/08/2025 - 11:47 Categories: Employee News HR News

University Staff: CU allows full-time staff to keep a maximum of 44 days (or 352 hours) of vacation within a fiscal year (July 1 - June 30). If you meet this maximum, you must either take or schedule vacation before June 30, or you will lose it.

Classified Staff: Maximum accruals for Cassified staff members in regular appointments are based on months of service.

All staff should double check your leave balances now, and make plans to use any hours of vacation time over the maximum allowable accrual time before the July 1 leave sweep deadline. As always, vacation leave requests are subject to the approval of your supervisor; don’t wait until June to put in your leave requests. If you have any questions regarding vacation leave, please contact your supervisor.

Preferred Name and Legal Name Change /fm/2023/10/29/preferred-name-and-legal-name-change Preferred Name and Legal Name Change Nancy Portner Sun, 10/29/2023 - 09:32 Categories: Employee News HR News

Your name is a part of your identity. How your name is used plays an important role in creating a welcoming and inclusive employee experience. Our vast IT systems and applications weave a complex web of information that spans across the campuses and at the CU system-level. In addition, some data is sent beyond CU to benefits and retirement providers. Unfortunately, this means that there isn't one easy place to change a name and ensure the update is in place everywhere.

The following information was gathered to help guide individuals though the name change process. Creating efficiencies in the name change process is a priority of our campus leaders. We will continue to update this site as processes and guidance change.

Referral bonuses available to CU staff /fm/referral-bonuses Referral bonuses available to CU staff Anonymous (not verified) Thu, 10/19/2023 - 20:06 Categories: Employee News HR News

The division of Infrastructure and Sustainability has several open positions and we need your help recruiting. If you know anyone who might be interested in applying for one (or more) of the positions listed below, please encourage them to apply. Be sure they include your name on the application when they apply so that you get the referral bonus after they complete the time period listed below. Please note an employee can only earn one referral bonus for a new hire (meaning they cannot get two referral bonuses for the same employee). If an employee is re-hired (who had earned a referral bonus previously), a current employee (even if he/she is not the original referrer), cannot earn a second referral bonus for the re-hired staff member. As a reminder, the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú´«Ã½ÎÄ»¯×÷Æ· HR promotions and transfers webpage outlines how employees may express interest in other transfer and promotional opportunities.

Buff Bus Drivers

$500 referral bonuses are available to current CU staff who refer new (not returning) CDL-licensed bus drivers to our team: a one-time $500 bonus will be paid out to the referring employee after the new hire reaches six months of employment. Bus driver bonuses do not apply to referrals for CDL-trainees.

Groundskeepers

$200 referral bonuses are available to current CU staff: a one-time $200 bonus will be paid out to the referring employee after the new recruit reaches three months of employment.

Custodians

$200 referral bonuses are available to current CU staff who refer new custodians to our team: a one-time $200 bonus will be paid out to the referring employee after the new recruit reaches three months of employment.

Material Handlers

$300 referral bonuses are available to current CU staff who refer new material handlers to our team: a one-time $300 bonus will be paid out to the referring employee after the new recruit reaches six months of employment.

Trades (Mechanics/Journeyman/Technicians)

$500 referral bonuses are available to current CU staff who refer new trades workers to our team: a one-time $500 bonus will be paid out to the referring employee after the new recruit reaches six months of employment. Referral-eligible trades positions include mechanics, journeymen, and technicians.

We are offering these referral bonuses to any current CU staff member (classified or University staff) in a .50 FTE (50%) or greater position. Anyone involved in the hiring process for the positions above (including direct supervisors, hiring managers, appointing authorities and HR) will not be eligible for the referral bonus program. New recruits must come from outside the Infrastructure & Sustainability team. If a current Facilities Management staff member is being promoted or transferred into one of the positions above, neither that person, nor that person’s colleagues, are eligible for referral bonuses. Once referral award bonuses are earned, they will be paid during the next regular payroll cycle.
