Abstract
Dr. Bailey will discuss her ongoing work to understand听human-environment interactions for the intersecting goals of听well-being of vulnerable populations, equity, and conservation. She听will share findings from research across Sub-Saharan Africa with听smallholder farming communities living in conservation听landscapes.
She will focus on case studies from Southern and East听Africa to highlight the importance of social capital and local听organizations to support sustainable rural livelihoods and听conservation goals under changing climatic conditions. She will听also briefly describe her work to supporting justice, equity,听diversity, and inclusion in STEM.
