Graduation deadlines for summer 2023

June 15
Graduate students who have not already done so must听apply online to graduate听through听听on the 鈥渁pply for graduation鈥 card in order to听have the degree awarded in August.听This is required even though there is no university-wide ceremony.听PhD students must enter their dissertation title as part of the online graduation application; you may update the title through the portal until this date.听This title will appear听on your transcript after your degree is awarded.

Master's students must submit to the Graduate School a听.听Applications follow a workflow process and must be approved by the academic department before they are directed to the Graduate School.
July
July 25
Doctoral听students must complete the PhD dissertation defense or final examination by this date.听Notice of the examination must be provided to the Graduate School using the听doctoral final examination form听two weeks before the exam.
August
Aug. 1
PhD students must听submit the dissertation听with the single-page Thesis Approval Form to ProQuest by this deadline. The dissertation must be听听for review and approval by Graduate School staff by the end of the business day. The听Thesis Approval Form听(TAF) must be uploaded as a supplemental file with the dissertation in order for the submission to be complete.听Students whose dissertations听are received after this deadline, or those not submitted with the TAF,听must apply to graduate at the following semester's听commencement.
