Donations in David鈥檚 Memory
David鈥檚 family invites David鈥檚 colleagues, friends, and students to make tax-deductible contributions in support of his intellectual home and community, the University of Colorado, Boulder.听His family has proposed several options:
- David's family plans to install a bench on the CU campus in his memory and encourages donations toward that goal. To donate, use this link:听听
Be sure to click 鈥測es鈥 for in honor/memory of and enter 鈥淒avid Shneer bench" in the 鈥渋n memory of鈥 space. You can leave the 鈥渘ext of kin鈥 contact info blank. The development office will track these gifts and notify the family when the fundraising goal has been met and will provide a list of contributors.
- David鈥檚 family also encourages donations in his memory directly to the 兔子先生传媒文化作品 History Department (/history/giving) and CU鈥檚 Program in Jewish Studies (/jewishstudies/giving).
听 - Finally, the family is seeking to increase the endowment for the James and Diane Shneer Endowed Fellowship Fund to support research in the听Post-Holocaust American Judaism Archive听at the University of Colorado, Boulder. David helped found the archive and the fund was originally created in honor of David鈥檚 parents on the occasion of Diane鈥檚 70th birthday. David鈥檚 parents plan to rename the fund in David鈥檚 honor. To donate, use this link:
For those who prefer to send a physical check toward a bench on campus or to the Shneer Endowed Fellowship Fund, those can be sent to the attention of:

David鈥檚 Research, Scholarship and Public Life
For those who might not know the full extent of David鈥檚 public work as a scholar, teacher, writer and community leader, I听invite you to browse through his personal web site:听
, here he听is with his music collaborator and dear friend, Jewlia Eisenberg, singing Dem Milner's Trern (鈥淭he Miller鈥檚 Tears鈥) in Yiddish (lyrics in comments). This is part of Jewlia and David's "Art Is My Weapon" project, about the radical musical life of Lin Jaldati, a Dutch Jewish cabaret performer and Holocaust survivor who migrated to East Berlin after WWII and became the "Yiddish diva鈥 of the Communist world.
