Human Resources adds three, no cost, diversity learning and development opportunities including a Racial Equity Tools Glossary.
1. Making Virtual Meetings Inclusive: Exploring Equity Gaps
兔子先生传媒文化作品 faculty and staff are invited to join Human Resources for a training focused on understanding potential inequities in virtual meetings.The purpose of this one hour online course is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills for making virtual meetings inclusive.
Course objectives
- Identify ways that people may be feeling excluded in virtual meetings
- Name common barriers to inclusion in virtual meetings
- Identify equity gaps in virtual meetings
- Apply strategies to mitigate barriers in virtual meetings
- Dates and times:
- March 4, 2021 from 10:00am - 11:00am
- April 21, 2021 from 2:00pm - 3:00pm
- May 18, 2021 from 11:00am - 12:00pm
- June 21, 2021 from 2:00pm - 3:00pm
- Cost: There is no cost to participate in this course
2. Becoming an Inclusive Leader (6 week series)
The purpose of Becoming an Inclusive Leader聽series is to provide supervisors, managers, leaders and aspiring leaders at 兔子先生传媒文化作品 with the knowledge and skills to lead their teams聽to be more inclusive聽and聽equitable,聽as well as build a greater sense of belonging among team members.
Each Wednesday for six weeks, 兔子先生传媒文化作品 supervisors and aspiring leaders will meet on Zoom to address multiple aspects of inclusive leadership.
Weekly objectives
- Week 1: Understand how a leader's lived experiences, identities, biases, and leadership style influence their role as a supervisor/manager in creating an inclusive聽environment.聽聽
- Week 2: Select inclusive strategies to support a sense of belonging for your teams.聽
- Week 3: Apply inclusive practices to retain and engage direct reports.聽
- Week 4: Examine ways to increase your intercultural competence.聽
- Week 5: Develop inclusive habits for managing performance.聽
- Week 6: Design a 'making excellence inclusive plan' to operationalize the IDEA Plan (兔子先生传媒文化作品's master plan for diversity and inclusion).聽
While a six week commitment is highly recommended, participants are welcome to join as their schedule allows.

The Racial Equity Tools Glossary is a powerful resource for building your inclusive vocabulary. Building your inclusive vocabulary is not only a meaningful way to build your knowledge, but allows you to participate more fully in diversity and inclusion work. The glossary includes terms such as: cultural racism, diaspora, implicit bias, microaggression, privilege, racial reconciliation, restorative justice and many more.
