Dear HR Liaisons,
As communicated in the Oct. 3 compensation updates announcement and the January Merit Process FAQs, there is a 3% base-building merit pool for eligible university staff and faculty employees.聽
When merit increases are approved for university staff, they will follow a standardized campus allocation model administered by Human Resources, in collaboration with Budget and Fiscal Planning and the Provost鈥檚 Office, unless otherwise communicated. All university staff employees across campus with the same performance rating will receive the same merit increase allocation determined by the campus executive leadership.
The Jan. 1, 2023 merit allocation decision for university staff has been made by campus leadership.
The rating allocation decision is also being communicated to merit-eligible university staff employees in an eMemo from HR today. Division, institute, college and school HR leaders will also receive this information on their university staff merit rosters to review and confirm throughout the next several weeks.
Effective Jan. 1, 2023, eligible university staff employees will receive the following merit-based increases from the 3% pool:
To be eligible for any compensation increase, all employees must be in compliance with the university鈥檚 COVID-19 vaccine reporting requirement. The deadline for compliance for the base-building increases is Dec. 31, 2022.
Merit increases will be effective Jan. 1, 2023 and will be reflected in an eligible employee鈥檚 January end of month paycheck. Eligible employees will receive a salary notification email outlining their January pay increase by the end of January 2023.
