Alexander Hatoum Dosier/Muenzinger award for outstanding contribution to basic research

Award ceremony
Dr. Naomi Friedman writes that Alex, who is in the Behavioral, Psychiatric, and Statistical Genetics program, has a breadth of work that incorporates many areas of psychology, particularly genetics, cognition, neuroimaging, and clinical psychology.  She states, 鈥渢he level of integration Alex  has achieved is one that I would consider exceptional in a faculty member, let alone a graduate student. His transformative thinking is the kind that will push our field forward.鈥   His work has focused on incorporating twin modeling, cognitive executive functions, psychopathology, neuroimaging and machine learning methods.  More recently, he has been involved in conducting genome-wide association analyses investigating the genetic correlation between executive functioning and psychopathology.  Across all of these studies, Alex integrates methods and area to arrive at a bigger picture that advances the field.  Furthermore, he is an effective collaborator, generous with his time, helpful to students, and a team player.
