Carol Becker Lynch Award for excellence in behavior genetics research
A generous gift from Prof. Robert Lynch and the late Prof. and Vice Chancellor Carol Becker Lynch has established the Carol Becker Lynch Endowed Graduate Research Fund to provide support of various kinds for our graduate research training programs and for the cultural and educational mission of the Institute for Behavioral Genetics.
Accordingly, we will award up to two annual prizes for excellence in research by a doctoral graduate student in the IBG training program, as judged by a paper published, or accepted for publication, in the preceding 12 months, along with other evidence of productivity and excellence. The first author of the paper should be the IBG trainee who would receive the award. Papers for consideration for these awards should be submitted to the Chair to the IBG Training Committee along with your annual report for review in January. The IBG Training Committee will serve as the award committee for this award and its decision will be final. The value of the prize will be $2000, to be used by the winner to support their training and research.
"Carol Lynch was a scientific leader in the field of evolutionary behavior genetics and served a term as President of the Behavior Genetics Association. She both trained at the Institute for Behavioral Genetics (IBG) as a postdoc and was a Faculty Fellow of the Institute during her time at 兔子先生传媒文化作品. A wonderful advocate for science in general, she had a special interest in developing the potential of young researchers and scholars through interdisciplinary training of the kind IBG provides. She and her husband were generous supporters of IBG and its graduate training program, and she will be remembered and honored for her tireless efforts to promote graduate education both locally and nationally."
