I am a science communicator with a dual background in biology and journalism. I amplify INSTAAR's world-class research through multimedia storytelling.

After working as a microscopist and research assistant in a plant biology lab during my undergraduate studies, I pivoted to journalism. I started out at a local newspaper in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and worked my way up to reporting for regional and national publications like Discover Magazine, Astronomy Magazine, Mongabay, the Colorado Sun and KUNC. During my MA Journalism degree at CU, I published multimedia stories that incorporated photography, videography and data visualization alongside my writing. I was the Arctic Reporting Fellow for the Pulitzer Center on Crisis reporting in 2023 — a role that sent me on a reporting trip to Utqiagvik, Alaska (formerly Barrow). Now, I'm glad to leverage my experience to disseminate INSTAAR's research to audiences both within and beyond the scientific community.
