About Eyal Rivlin:
Born and raised in Israel, Rivlin began teaching as an instructor in the Israeli military in 1993. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Tel Aviv University majoring in Psychology and East Asian Studies. Pursuing the union of these two fields, Rivlin moved to Boulder and obtained a masters degree in Transpersonal Psychology. Also a professional touring and recording musician, he has released and played on numerous Hebrew and Jewish CDs including 鈥淐oming Home鈥 a groundbreaking collection of original Hebrew chants released by Sounds True. From 2004-2007 he worked closely with Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi and coauthored 鈥淚nto My Garden鈥 and 鈥淎t the Rebbe鈥檚 Table鈥, two musical anthologies including recordings and transcriptions detailing the musical legacy of Reb Zalman. In 2009 he released 鈥淏ody as Temple鈥, an instructional DVD set on the practice of embodied Jewish prayer.听
While teaching Hebrew extensively for over a decade, Eyal鈥檚 students have described his award-winning teaching style as 鈥渋nspiring, refreshing, accessible, creative and engaging.鈥 In 2017 he collaborated with Lior Gross to create the听听helping to build a bigger tent for nonbinary Hebrew speakers through a third-gender grammar systematics for Hebrew. In 2019 Rivlin and Gross received the University of Colorado鈥檚 Chancellor鈥檚 Advisory Committee on Gender and Sexuality recognition award for their work.听
In 2024, Rivlin was the recipient of the Best Should Teach Award, honoring excellence in teaching.
