The Johnson Laboratory is accepting two qualified research technicians to assist in the laboratory at the world-recognized University of Colorado located in scenic Boulder Colorado. Note: These positions are only available to those who have graduated with either an associate degree or bachelor's degree. The Johnson Laboratory is accepting qualified research technicians to assist in the laboratory at the world-recognized University of Colorado located in scenic Boulder Colorado beginning in April (negotiable) and concluding in December 2025.
The primary responsibilities of the selected individual will be to perform necropsies on a wide range of amphibian, fish, and snail species to identify and quantify macro-parasite infections. This will include: (1) isolation of macro-parasites for molecular and morphological vouchers and abundance, and (2) use of microscopic imaging techniques to identify and document parasites in situ.
In addition, the individual will assist with data entry and analysis on camera trapping and acoustic monitoring projects, as well as support Sr Researcher with annual reporting and permit applications. Finally, the individual will be expected to assist with daily management of the laboratory including husbandry of live amphibians, fishes, and snails, data entry and data clean up, freshwater pond sampling, and to assist with laboratory and microcosm experiments.
We require an ASS and/or BS or minimum of 2 years of experience in a research laboratory or similar work.
