What does it mean to be a compliance officer in your field?
The mission of a compliance officer is to promote the knowledge of and adherence of NCAA and Pac-12 rules and regulations in the community, amongst university and department staff, as well as with student-athletes.听 A compliance officer monitors such rules and regulations, thereby reducing infractions that may otherwise occur.
What might a 鈥渢ypical鈥 work day look like for you?
There is no typical work day for a compliance officer, as it varies based on the time of year, which sports are in-season and events that have occurred amongst our constituents. Eligibility reviews, providing interpretations, investigating potential violations and creating educational documents could all take place within one day. 听
What do you enjoy about working in compliance?
There is never a dull moment in athletics compliance, and the real sense of accomplishment comes from seeing the success of our student-athletes in the classroom and in their respective competitive arenas.
