Susan WindischÌýisÌýthe Director of CLASIC (Computational Linguistics, Analytics,ÌýSearch and Informatics), the professional M.S. in computational linguistics at the University of Colorado, as well as a Teaching Associate Professor and Senior Research Associate in the Linguistics Department.ÌýAfter receiving a joint Ph.D. in Cognitive Science and Linguistics from the University of Colorado in 2010Ìýas Susan Windisch Brown, she worked as a postdoc at the University of Florence before returning to CU in 2014. Her research is in natural language processing, especiallyÌýevent representation, verb polysemy, metaphor, and ontology development.ÌýShe has been involved in developing several resources for NLP, including VerbNet, the DARPA-Wikidata ontology, OntoNotes and the IMAGACT ontology.ÌýHer current research focuses on approaches to event understanding and entity tracking and on the inferential abilities of large language models.Ìý She teaches courses in corpus linguistics and natural language processing.
