Graduate Students
- As a professional master’s student in the Paul M. Rady Department of Mechanical Engineering, Katrina Leyden moonlights as a machinist and welder for local bike shops in the Boulder area. But it wasn’t until Leyden recently won the PBE X SRAM
- Ryan Schmad (BSME '23) is the recipient of the 2022 Best Undergradute Podium Award from the Rocky Mountain American Society of Biomechanics. His research mentor is Rachel Marbaker, a current PhD student in Alaa Ahmed's Neuromechanics Laboratory.
- Students learn how solid and fluid mechanics play a role in how cancer cells interact and form solid tumors. Taught by Professor Maureen Lynch, the class examines the experimental systems and technical evaluations of the disease to model and test cancer-related processes.
- The National Science Foundation has awarded two Paul M. Rady Department of Mechanical Engineering students with Graduate Research Fellowships and two students with honorable mentions.
- PhD student Aniya Khalili was looking for a research lab that would match her values. She found that match in 2019 with Professor Shelly Miller and was introduced to the practice of community-engaged scholarship.
- Karina Andersen, Jace Aschbrenner, Davis Butte and Valerie Welch are among the 49 student-athletes who were honored at the 30th Annual Student-Athlete Academic Recognition. Ky Ecton, a senior on the women's tennis team who is also a Mechanical Engineering major, lettered for the fourth time this spring and spoke at the event.
- The Division of Polymeric Materials: Science and Engineering recognized Martinez's research on membrane technologies that can ensure more scientifically reliable water treatment filtration systems.
- The future of engineering at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú´«Ã½ÎÄ»¯×÷Æ· is one of inclusivity, diversity, and resilience. Since our first female graduate in 1903, our women students and faculty have stood on the cutting edge of research and innovation. We celebrate our past
- The Committee for Equity in Mechanical Engineering invited freshmen from Arrupe Jesuit High School to campus, where they built robots and toured the Integrated Teaching and Learning Laboratory.
- The racial reckoning in summer 2020 led to an awakening in our consciousness – a need for everyone to look inward and tackle our own unconscious biases. Professor Janet Tsai is asking students to question these preconceived notions when it comes to mechanical engineering as well.
