Petalibrary Renewals
Each PetaLibrary allocation should be renewed before its effective expiration date. This date is defined when the service was first purchased or when it was last renewed.
Before the due date the PI and POC of each allocation is notified through email that the allocation is about to expire, and instructions are sent on how to renew the allocation for another year. (The minimum renewal period is one year, and the minimum allocation amount is 2 TB.)
If no acknowledgement of the renewal notification is received by the due date, the allocation will remain be accessible for up to a 1 month grace period, during which the PI or POC may still renew the allocation. Renewals processed during the grace period will be effective starting from the last expiration date. For example, if the allocation had expired Oct. 1, and a 1-year renewal is processed during the grace period on Oct. 15, then the new starting date is Oct. 1 and the next expiration date will be Oct. 1 of the following year.
If, after 1 month, no feedback is received, access to the allocation will be locked, though files will be retained for an additional 2 months. If there is still no acknowledgement or renewal during this 2-month retention period, remaining files are subject to removal, from either "active" or "archive."
