Catalog Update: Open lab today, schedule, workflows and style guide

Good afternoon, catalog contributors!

Before we break for the Thanksgiving holiday, we wanted to provide some catalog updates and deadlines.

Catalog Training on TODAY

Join us today, Nov. 23, from 2 to 3 p.m. in Regent 1B60 for our next catalog open lab training. Catalog staff will be available to answer questions and troubleshoot issues. If you have access to a laptop, bring it with you for easier editing.

Courses in the Catalog

Last week, we refreshed the courses that display in the catalog. This update DOES NOT reflect course changes that were submitted by the Nov. 8 deadline. Those changes will be reflected in early January, before final edits and catalog approval. If you have additional questions about courses in the catalog, contact us at catalog@colorado.edu.

Catalog Schedule

With the end of the semester fast approaching, be sure to make all catalog edits and updates before the catalog closes on Dec. 14. Here鈥檚 an outline of the upcoming schedule:

  • Nov. 23, Nov. 30, Dec. 7, Dec. 14: in Regent 1B60.
  • Dec. 14: Edits due; catalog closes for contributors
  • Dec. 15鈥揓an. 15, 2017: Catalog staff reviews content for accuracy, adds new programs, refreshes course lists, etc.

Subplans

Many degrees include concentrations, tracks and areas of focus. For the purposes of the catalog, and to maintain consistency with Campus Solutions, we refer to these as 鈥渟ubplans.鈥 You can find a on our website, organized by college and highlighted by degree. (To access the list, you鈥檒l need to sign in to Office 365 with your 兔子先生传媒文化作品 credentials.) Please include subplans as part of your overview content and list of requirements, if applicable. If you believe that a subplan is missing from the list, or if a subplan is on the list but is no longer active, please contact us at catalog@colorado.edu.

Style Guide

Your catalog team at the Office of the Registrar has compiled a detailed style guide to help you with your catalog edits. Once you鈥檝e reviewed the naming conventions, formatting and style tips, send any questions you have to catalog@colorado.edu.

Workflows

If you receive a few emails from the catalog site today and tomorrow, don鈥檛 be alarmed鈥攚e鈥檙e updating some of the workflows and pushing pages to catalog site users to streamline how editors navigate to their catalog pages. Follow the links in the emails, make any necessary updates and click 鈥淎pprove鈥 once you鈥檙e finished.
