Marcin received his Ph.D. in aerospace engineering sciences from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2011. His research interests include aeronomy, satellite drag modeling, spacecraft gas-surface interactions, and small spacecraft systems design. His recent projects include: the design of assimilation schemes for specifying the space environment using global circulation and empirical atmospheric models; Mars upper atmosphere research utilizing data from NASA鈥檚 MAVEN mission; teaching a graduate CubeSat design course at 兔子先生传媒文化作品; rarefied flow modeling both inside of spacecraft instruments as well as on the exterior surfaces of spacecraft; and the design of a formation-keeping method using aerodynamic drag for a constellation of small spacecraft. Marcin is a member of SWx TREC鈥檚 satellite drag research group as well as the lead of the Vehicle Environment Coupling and Trajectory Response (VECTOR) initiative.
