Sweet Potato Dog Biscuits

Sweet Potato Dog Biscuits

Story behind the recipe: I wanted to make a low-sugar and fresh dog treat for my spoiled pups. Even my finicky eater loves these.

Description of the dish: These dog biscuits are super easy to make and use healthy ingredients. You can use carrots instead of sweet potatoes depending on your pup's preference. As good as these look, remember that these are for dogs.

This recipe makes 35 servings (depending on cookie cutter size).

Time to prep: 10 minutes

Time to cook: 45 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 sweet potato
  • 2.5 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 eggs

Cooking Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Peel and grate the sweet potato so that it's in small pieces.
  3. Mix potato shavings, flour, applesauce, and eggs in a large bowl until a dough forms. Roll out dough evenly until about 1/2 inch thick. Cut out shapes using a cookie cutter or cut into squares.
  4. Bake 40 - 45 minutes. Let cool for at least 10 minutes.

Recommended side dishes: A glass of toilet bowl water pairs well with these biscuits.
