The finish line is in sight and the end of the academic year is almost here! With finals around the corner and many students planning to move soon, here’s a checklist to help you wrap up the end of the year.ÌýÌý

Prepare for finals
Between final exams and end-of-semester papers and projects coming up, many students may feel busier than usual. Review these tips to help you get centered and ready for finals and check out for more tips and resources.ÌýÌýÌý
Give back to your local community and donate unwanted items
As you prepare for your move, consider donating items you cannot store or take with you. This reduces what may end up in a landfill and gives your items a second life. Preparing which items to donate early can reduce stress during this busy time.ÌýÌý
For on-campus residents, participate in the Give and Go Donation Drive. You can donate:Ìý
- Clothing and shoes
- Usable home goods
- Unopened non-perishable foods
- Books
- School supplies
- Toiletries, hygiene products and cleaning suppliesÌý
Please note: Items like bedding, pillows and towels are not accepted. Broken items are also not accepted.Ìý
If you live off campus, there will be drop-off locations on the Hill at key times this summer where you can get rid of hard-to-recycle items like furniture, mattresses, electronics and more. This is a partnership between the E-Center, Off Campus Housing & Neighborhood Relations and the city of Boulder.Ìý

There are also various locations in Boulder where you can donate usable items in good condition.Ìý
Keep items to use next year
Instead of discarding or donating your items, consider using The UPS Store at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú´«Ã½ÎÄ»¯×÷Æ· for . This service is straightforward and cost-effective, offering customized storage solutions. Pick up a box from the on-campus store, fill it and return it. You can also store larger or specialty items through this program.ÌýÌý
Store or donate your bike
Store your bike with the CU Bike Program for $20 over the summer. Limited storage is available on a first-come, first-served basis at the TLC bike station. Learn more about summer bike storage.ÌýÌý
If you’d like to donate your bike, you can do so at the Folsom and TLC bike stations. Bikes will be refurbished and sold at the annual fall Bike Sale.ÌýÌýÌý
Bikes left on campus that appear abandoned will be flagged and removed starting in May.Ìý
Properly dispose of items
Sometimes you may have items that can't be thrown away or donated, like electronics, cleaning products or fluorescent bulbs. Here are tips for handling these:Ìý
- Get rid of expired or unwanted medications at the take-back box in the main floor lobby of the Parking Services and Police Department building.
- Dispose of vape and other hazardous tobacco products at designated locations in the UMC and the Village Center.
- Donate usable electronics to thrift stores. Recycle unusable electronics for a small fee at Eco-Cycle’s or for free at or . In Colorado, it's illegal to throw electronics in a dumpster.
- Learn how to —common household hazardous waste includes fluorescent bulbs, cleaning products, motor oil, antifreeze, paint and yard care products.Ìý

It’s never too late to ask for help if you need it! Take advantage of academic and non-academic resources available to students to help you prepare for the end of the semester:ÌýÌý
- Check out tutoring, help labs and other learning resources to support you and your academic success.
- Find mental health support with Counseling & Psychiatric Services.
- Get assistance with family emergencies, hospitalization or other extenuating circumstances through Student Support and Case Management.
- Connect with the Basic Needs Center if you’re experiencing food or housing insecurities.
- Get sustainability tips and resources on recycling and more with the Environmental Center.Ìý
