Streamline your search��

Setting up saved searches on employment platforms can be a huge help in finding opportunities. For example, if you set up a saved search in Handshake, you’ll be the first to know about new postings and receive emails when employers post positions that meet your search criteria. This will save you the work of checking Handshake daily or re-entering your search parameters each time. Here’s how you can set up saved searches:��

• Select your desired industry filters on your search then look on the left side of the screen for a box titled “Don’t miss out!”
• Click the “Save your search” link and then click to edit notifications to name your search and adjust how often you receive an email about incoming positions.
• You can set up multiple searches if you have different interests or want to see different results for multiple regions in the country.��

To ensure you can apply quickly for job postings that interest you, create a template for your resume and cover letter that highlights your experience, skills and accomplishments. • Get help from your family, friends, professors and supervisors. They may be available for proofreading or to connect you to a hiring manager with a great opportunity.��
