The work of two 1998-99 student groups will culminate within the span of a week as the scholars in the Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program at the University of Colorado at Boulder present their research discoveries in the 1999 Summer Colloquium.
The presentations, with topics ranging from art history to molecular, cellular and developmental biology, will be held Thursday and Friday, July 29-30, from 9 a.m. to noon in Hale 270, and Aug. 5-6 in Duane Physics G1B20.
The McNair Program prepares selected CU-Boulder undergraduates to study at the doctoral level. The federally funded program is named in honor of the African-American astronaut who died in the 1986 space shuttle explosion. The program is administered by CU's Student Academic Services Center.
Evelyn Hu-DeHart, history professor, chair of the department of ethnic studies, and director of the Center for Studies of Ethnicity and Race in America (CSERA) at CU-Boulder, will give the keynote address on July 29 at 9 a.m.
For more information visit the McNair office in Willard Administrative Center, room 400, between 8-5 p.m., or call 492-5660 or visit the web site at .
