University of Colorado Boulder Provost Russell L. Moore has named Mary J. Kraus as vice provost and associate vice chancellor for undergraduate education, effective June 1, 2016. Kraus succeeds Michael Grant, who will retire on June 30 after 42 years at CU-Boulder.
鈥淢ichael鈥檚 commitment to and passion for the success of our undergraduate students is unparalleled throughout his career and this is clearly evident in the programs he has developed and managed during his tenure at the university,鈥 Moore said. 鈥淢ary has the vision, enthusiasm and knowledge to build on those successes.鈥
As part of this position Kraus will lead many key campus student success initiatives and be involved in the development of recruitment and student support strategies that will enable CU-Boulder to recruit and retain a highly competitive and diverse undergraduate student body, Moore said. 听
鈥淗er vision for student success and experience in a variety of academic environments over the years makes her the perfect match for this position,鈥 Moore said. 听

鈥淚 am deeply committed to undergraduate education and excited to work with a strong, collaborative team in the Provost's office to ensure that every student who comes to CU-Boulder has the support and programs to help them succeed academically,鈥 Kraus said.
