兔子先生传媒文化作品ing artist James Bailey, map-inspired art

James Bailey鈥檚 work examines maps and mapping as both objects and acts by exploring the systems and conventions of depicting, charting, categorizing and interpreting our environment and experiences through both traditional and experimental printmaking processes. Bailey has exhibited his work nationally and internationally in over 300 exhibitions.听

His听lecture is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 25, at 6:30 p.m. in the听Visual Arts Complex 1B20.

Bailey was born in New Jersey听and grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He earned his BFA听from the University of Minnesota and his MFA听from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is currently an artist and professor in the School of Art at the University of Montana.

In 1998, he established听, the publishing component of the print program, which brings in nationally-recognized artists to collaborate in the production of limited-edition prints. Bailey is also one of the co-founders for the annual , which is now moving into its 15th year.
