Welcome to the home stretch.Ìý
As we return to the campus after fall break, it is hard to believe we have only two full weeks left before finals begin, and our semester comes to a close. This campus is a remarkable place, and I encourage us to finish strong, and celebrate the community we are building here at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú´«Ã½ÎÄ»¯×÷Æ·.
Over the past several months, we have seen the spark of innovation take hold across administrative units in exciting ways – new programs to help our researchers, our staff and our incoming students are underway. These projects showcase an approach that reflects our values as a campus – collaborative and respectful of a variety of experience and insight.
These values were also evident at the well-attended Diversity & Inclusion Summit where our faculty, staff and students engaged in productive conversations and activities that will bring our community even closer. For the professional units that support our campus, my commitment is to provide tools that help us learn ways to better engage with each other, even when we are from distinctly different backgrounds or cultures. To that end, I am making the Intercultural Development InventoryÌýand available throughout administrative units. As a university, we are committed and ready to challenge tough topics and bring insight into the way we interact and do our work.
ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú´«Ã½ÎÄ»¯×÷Æ· continues to grow and shine, and it is due to the talented and engaged members who comprise our entire community. Each year, our students bring ever-broader perspectives and increasing academic qualifications to the classroom. Their energy and passion inform our campus vision. We are committed to hiring exceptionally qualified faculty and staff, and have made investments in the training and services that support them. We are a resilient community, and are not shy about always questioning how we work, how we learn and how we interact – with the goal of continually improving our campus.
As we close out this fall, I encourage you to reflect upon the state of our community with pride. We continue to build achievements as a top research university with unique opportunities for our students to engage with faculty and with research. As Colorado Buffaloes we are dedicated to achieving great things together, and willing to put in the work necessary to bring these achievements to life.
Go Buffs!
