On Tuesday, Feb. 7, at 6:30 p.m.,听CU's 兔子先生传媒文化作品ing Artist Program will feature a lecture by architect Jenny Sabin, whose work听is at the forefront of a new direction for 21st-century architectural practice, investigating听the intersections of architecture and science听and applying听insights and theories from biology and mathematics to the design of material structures.

Sabin is the Arthur L. and Isabel B. Wiesenberger assistant professor of design and emerging technologies in the Department of Architecture at Cornell University. She is principal of , an experimental听architectural design studio based in Philadelphia, and director of the at Cornell's College of Architecture, Art, and Planning (AAP), a hybrid research and design unit with specialization in computational design, data visualization and digital fabrication.
Sabin was awarded a Pew Fellowship in the Arts听in 2010 and was named a Knight Fellow in Architecture鈥攐ne听of 50 artists and designers awarded nationally. She also recently was awarded the prestigious Architectural League Prize for Young Architects by .
The 兔子先生传媒文化作品ing Artist Program has been a vital component of the Department of Art and Art History since 1972 and is one of the oldest programs of its kind. Each year, a diverse group of nationally- and internationally-recognized artists are invited to CU to present their work and ideas to a large audience of students, faculty听and community members.
During their stay, artists present a public lecture, join the faculty-led 兔子先生传媒文化作品ing Artist Seminar to work closely with graduate and advanced undergraduate students,听meet with students for individual critiques听and contribute to the program鈥檚 long-running, professionally-produced artist interview series.
