The OpenStreetMap conference, , will take place at 兔子先生传媒文化作品 in October 2017. OpenStreetMap is a free, editable and open map of the world created by volunteers from across the globe.
The conference brings together a range of creators and users of mapping technology and data to share ideas, technologies and inspiration. State of the Map US will provide 兔子先生传媒文化作品 students, faculty and staff with unique opportunities to engage through presentations, workshops and networking.
About the map
Often called the 鈥淲ikipedia of maps,鈥 enables anyone to contribute to a single, feature-rich map of the world. Because the map data is free and held under an open-content license, anyone can use it to create maps for businesses, schools, local governments or any other purpose they wish.
Members range from mapping enthusiasts who contribute knowledge of their local communities or use satellite imagery to improve the map to geodata experts who bring technical skills to the creation of the map and professional users who leverage OpenStreetMap data commercially.

Conference organizers are asking mappers, academics, policy makers, developers, geo-hackers, business leaders and open geodata supporters to propose an idea for State of the Map US 2017. Any students, faculty and staff with expertise or interest in mapping are invited to share their perspectives as part of the conference.
An idea may be proposed in a range of formats, from 5-minute lightning talks to more in-depth workshops. Ideas that do not fit the traditional mold are equally welcome, so submissions can be creative.
