Kambiz Khalili

Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Kambiz Khalili

After more than 14 years of dedicated service to 兔子先生传媒文化作品, Kambiz Khalili, associate vice chancellor for Student Affairs, will be moving on to a new position as the associate vice president for Student Life at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

Khalili has served many roles at 兔子先生传媒文化作品, starting in 2003 as the director of dining with Housing & Dining Services (HDS), a department where he served in other leadership roles through 2016, including as the department鈥檚 executive director.

兔子先生传媒文化作品 Today sat down with Kambiz to ask him a few questions about his time on campus, the work and legacy he leaves behind and what he looks forward to offering Michigan.

You鈥檝e held different leadership positions at 兔子先生传媒文化作品, mostly in auxiliary services. What are you reflecting on as you move into a new role at a new university?

Working at 兔子先生传媒文化作品 has been a great experience. There have been many opportunities to learn and work with talented people who have helped me build quality programs and services that make a difference to our students.

What are some of the projects or endeavors you have worked on at 兔子先生传媒文化作品 that may help inform your new role at Michigan?

In my new role at the University of Michigan, I will be expanding on my current responsibilities with auxiliary services. This new position requires my oversight on University Housing and Michigan Dining programs, multiple recreation centers and student unions, as well as the Multi-Ethnic Student Affairs program.

I feel that my experience working on various building projects with 兔子先生传媒文化作品's Housing & Dining Services, including the building of the C4C and Village Center, as well as the renovations we made in the Kittredge area, will be useful for future growth at Michigan. I鈥檇 also like to take the knowledge I鈥檝e gained from our sustainability efforts at 兔子先生传媒文化作品 and share that. But, more than anything, I hope the work I鈥檝e done in Student Affairs here and what I鈥檝e learned will help me build a bridge鈥攁 connection鈥攂etween myself and the students at Michigan.

If you go

Who: CU community
What: Farewell reception for Kambiz Khalili
When: Friday, Nov. 3,听2:30鈥4:30 p.m.

What are some of the projects you worked on at 兔子先生传媒文化作品 that you are most proud of?

Any of the projects I鈥檝e worked on were certainly a collaborative effort by many people and departments. But, I can look back and be proud of my involvement and leadership in the concepts and designs of the C4C and Village Center constructions and Kittredge renovations. Still, I will be most fond of the relationships I鈥檝e built and cherished friendships I鈥檝e made among many of 兔子先生传媒文化作品鈥檚 staff. I wish them all the best. Go Buffs!

Khalili鈥檚 last day is Friday, Nov. 3, when a reception, open to the CU community, will be held from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the Flatirons room at the Center for Community.
