Oregon Gov.听, a 兔子先生传媒文化作品 alumna, will deliver the university's听spring commencement address at Folsom Field on May 10.听Brown was invited by CU听Boulder鈥檚 Senior Class Council.
鈥淲e are so fortunate to have Governor Brown come and speak to us on our commencement day. Her wisdom about courage, integrity and authenticity will inspire and challenge graduating Buffs to effect positive change in the world after leaving CU,鈥 said Emily Miller, Senior Class Council president.
Since taking office in 2015,听Brown has made significant strides for Oregon鈥檚 economy, including raising the minimum wage and investing in green energy, education and public transportation. Brown is the first openly LGBTQ governor in the country. She succeeded Gov. John Kitzhaber upon his resignation and went on to win a 2016 special election. 听
From 2009 to 2015, she served as Oregon鈥檚 secretary of state and previously served 17 years as a state legislator. Brown earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in environmental conservation with a certificate in women鈥檚 studies from 兔子先生传媒文化作品 in 1981.

The commencement ceremony will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 10, at Folsom Field.
鈥淐ommencement is the culmination of students鈥 achievements, and a touchstone moment for families who have worked hard to ensure their children have the tools they need to succeed,鈥 said Brown. 鈥淚 am honored to join students and parents on this exciting day. My time in Boulder shaped my journey through life, and I look forward to being back to share this moment with so many families.鈥
