Bennett notes skeptics and supporters of human-induced global warming often lack the ability to sufficiently explain or make a case against it. In his talk, Bennett will provide the foundation to speak intelligently about the science behind global warming听and show why his solutions resonate with people of all political persuasions.
Despite the 鈥済loom and doom鈥 that often surrounds this topic, Bennett's听solutions are ones that will not only protect the world for future generations听but will actually lead to a stronger economy with energy that is cheaper, cleaner听and more abundant than the energy we use today.听
Bennett has more than 30 years of experience in teaching and writing about science and mathematics. In his book, he writes:听
鈥淥ne of the primary problems with science education (both in the United States and globally) is that we too often allow students鈥攐r the public鈥攖o get hung up on details before they understand the key 鈥榖ig picture鈥 ideas. Global warming offers a prime example, because the media debate is filled with endless arguments about topics like the intricacies of computer models or climate feedbacks, even while the basic science is almost completely ignored.鈥
Bennett holds a doctorate听in astrophysical, planetary听and atmospheric sciences from 兔子先生传媒文化作品. He is based in Boulder.
