Known as the campus “living room,” thousands of people visit the University Memorial Center (UMC) every day to grab a bite to eat, enjoy free entertainment, shop the retail stores, study with free wireless internet or just hang out!
Here are five things you should know about the UMC:
There are lots of dining options at the UMC
From the Alferd Packer Restaurant & Grill, named after Colorado’s most famous cannibal, to Starbucks, Jamba Juice, Panda Express and Subway, we’ve got something for every taste! Plus, the Alferd Packer Grill accepts meal plans, Campus Cash and Munch Money. Starbucks accepts Campus Cash and Starbucks gift cards, too. Come by and grab a bite!
The UMC has a Wifi Lounge
Looking for a study spot that isn’t Norlin or your residence hall? Hit up the Wifi Lounge located on the first floor of the UMC in the West Dining Room, next to the Ink Spot! Equipped with computers, printers, monitors and lots of places to plug in your own laptop, the Wifi Lounge is a great place to dive deep into your studies!
The Connection is under construction
The Connection is closed for renovation until 2020. The Connection is ýĻƷ’s own hub for kicking back, relaxing, networking, getting involved and meeting new people. The new space will offer the same great recreation options and amenities – plus a few new ones! – in a welcoming and open environment.
Although the facility is closed, there will still be trivia nights, poker tournaments, karaoke nights, video game tournaments and comedy open mic nights in alternate locations inside the UMC. Give The Connection to learn more about upcoming events and where they will be located!
