Comedian, actor and musician Vir Das will speak at 兔子先生传媒文化作品 at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 7, in the UMC Glenn Miller Ballroom.
Tickets will be $2 for students, $5 for faculty and staff, and $10 for the general public. .
Das got started as a stand-up comedian in India, where his comedy style, which often addresses cultural nuances and contemporary issues, also resonated with audiences worldwide. He has starred in numerous comedy shows, films and television shows in India. His international recognition took off with his Netflix comedy specials "Abroad Understanding" and "Losing It." Das also is a talented musician, fronting the comedy-rock band Alien Chutney.

鈥淗e uses stand-up comedy to address social issues, touching on serious topics such as cultural appropriation and representation, but simultaneously discusses lighter, funnier topics. He can tackle important topics through stand-up comedy, resonating with our goal of encouraging respectful dialogue and understanding of cultural differences among students. Through his work, he demonstrates how humor can be a powerful tool for connecting with and embracing one's own culture, making him an ideal choice to engage with our campus community.鈥
