A new study on obesity and people鈥檚 happiness by CU-Boulder sociology researchers suggests that it鈥檚 not obesity by itself that determines whether a person is happy with their body image but where you live. According to study co-author Philip Pendergast, a doctoral student in sociology at CU-Boulder, if a person who is obese lives in a community where people share the same body type they are more likely to be happier.

Governor Joe Garcia visited a highly successful program at Godsman Elementary School in Denver that promotes not only literacy, but biliteracy in Spanish and English. As a result, Godsman has achieved impressive reading and writing gains in both Spanish and English that have outpaced the district and the state.
