International Research Team To Study Indian Ocean Monsoon

CU-Boulder Ranked Nationally In Top Colleges For Hispanics

The University of Colorado at Boulder is nationally ranked as one of the top 100 colleges in graduating Hispanics at the bachelor's and doctoral degree levels, according to a report in the magazine Hispanic Outlook in Higher Education. The rankings are based on 1997 data -- the latest available -- provided by the Center for Education Statistics of the U.S. Department of Education. CU-Boulder is ranked 67th in graduating Hispanic students with bachelor's degrees and 34th in doctoral degrees.

Stewart Hoover Named Interim Dean For School Of Journalism At CU-Boulder

Stewart Hoover, professor of journalism and mass communications at the University of Colorado at Boulder, will serve as the school's interim dean beginning July 1, pending approval by the CU Board of Regents. Phil DiStefano, vice chancellor for academic affairs, appointed Hoover to the interim position following the resignation of Willard "Wick" Rowland, current dean of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, effective at the end of the semester.

Chancellor's Lecture Series To Host Brass Quintet May 5 At Boulder Library

CU-Boulder Professor Vernon Minor To Receive 1999/2000 Rome Prize

Vernon Minor, associate professor in the departments of fine arts and comparative literature/humanities at the University of Colorado at Boulder, has been selected to receive the Rome Prize, a fellowship awarded by the American Academy in Rome. The Rome Prize is the most prestigious grant for a scholar studying Roman art history in the United States. Minor's award is the National Endowment for the Humanities fellowship in the History of Art, as part of the School of Classical Studies.
