Join fellow students, faculty, staff and administrators on Thursday, Feb. 11, from 4 to 5:30 p.m., in the UMC Aspen Rooms, for a creative research presentation and facilitated small group conversations about racial and ethnic inclusion at CU-Boulder. The purpose of this event is to bring different members of the campus together to discuss what inclusion means and discuss implications for policies and practices on the CU-Boulder campus.

The University of Colorado Boulder鈥檚 68th annual Conference on World Affairs will host a full complement of speakers from around the world April 4-8. This year鈥檚 program will feature a diverse collection of nearly 100 speakers, including musicians, scientists, activists, entrepreneurs, authors and more. Participants travel from locations across the globe including: the United Kingdom, the Philippines, Tanzania, Washington, D.C., San Francisco and Boston to list a few, aligning with the conference鈥檚 mission of 鈥淏ringing the World to Boulder.鈥�

University of Colorado Boulder alumni Ellison Onizuka and Kalpana Chawla, astronauts who died in NASA space shuttle accidents 17 years apart, will be remembered on campus Saturday, Jan. 30.

Where else but a top-notch research university such as CU-Boulder can you go to a lecture series tackling everything from the origins of beer to all things Holy War to a brush with Pluto and how to live a more humorous life? CU on the Weekend invites the public to learn from and interact with some of the University of Colorado Boulder鈥檚 most dynamic faculty members as they share their particular pursuits of knowledge with free spring programming beginning Saturday, Jan. 30. Spring 2016 programs include:

CU-Boulder instructor Lynn Nichols, former general manager of the Colorado Shakespeare Festival, is set to direct an on-campus production of 鈥淭he Winter鈥檚 Tale,鈥� Jan. 27-31, at CU-Boulder鈥檚 Loft Theatre. The all-student cast brings William Shakespeare鈥檚 timeless tragicomedy to life with vintage costumes and interactive staging.

The University of Colorado Boulder today announced two finalists for the fourth 兔子先生传媒文化作品ing Scholar in Conservative Thought and Policy. This month, the finalists will make one-day campus visits, during which they will hold public forums. The finalists are Francis Beckwith, professor of philosophy and church-state studies at Baylor University in Texas; and Richard Bishirjian, president of EDUcourses Inc. and president of Yorktown University, a for-profit, online liberal-arts university.

More than 70 speakers and presenters from around the world will be part of Media, Gender and Religion, a University of Colorado Boulder conference to be held Jan. 7-10. CU-Boulder鈥檚 Center for Media, Religion and Culture (CMRC) will host the conference. All plenary sessions are free and open to the public with no registration required. They will be held at Old Main Chapel and the Center for Community on campus.

A student multimedia exhibition currently on display in the Visual Arts Complex explores the lives of the university鈥檚 custodial staff.

The University of Colorado Boulder will hold its final winter commencement ceremony on at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, at the Coors Events Center as the campus moves toward a single spring ceremony honoring all graduates. The ceremony, which is free and open to the public, will honor 1,736 candidates for degrees including 1,280 bachelor鈥檚 degrees, 280 master鈥檚 degrees, eight law degrees and 168 doctoral degrees.

The CU-Boulder Distinguished Speakers Board is pleased to announce its second event of the year: former National Security Agency system administrator Edward Snowden is coming to the University of Colorado Boulder via video chat on Tuesday, Feb. 16. Ron Suskind , a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and former Wall Street Journal reporter, will moderate the event live from the Macky Auditorium.
