Dear colleagues,
We are writing to let you know that we are granting three days of administrative leave during the holiday season so that all ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú´«Ã½ÎÄ»¯×÷Æ· employees can take meaningful time to focus on their families, friends, and personal health and well-being without needing to use vacation leave.
Our staff and faculty are selfless in their dedication to creating a world-class experience for our students. We recognize that we must care for the health and well being of our employees so that you can continue advancing the university’s mission of education and research.
Details of this administrative leave includes:
- Nov. 23: Employees will be granted administrative leave on Wednesday, Nov. 23, prior to the campus holidays on Nov. 24 and 25.
- Dec. 28-29: During Winter Break week (Dec. 26-30), administrative leave will be granted for Dec. 28 and 29 – the two days that are not already campus holidays. Employees will not need to record personal vacation leave for these days. If the governor issues an additional governor’s holiday for this period, that will be applied to the two administrative leave days.
- During these administrative leave days, all academic and administrative offices will be closed, and most faculty and staff will be away from their work and classroom duties. Areas providing essential services will remain open, and leaders of these units will determine appropriate staffing levels to ensure continued operations and service.
All ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú´«Ã½ÎÄ»¯×÷Æ· employees are eligible for this leave.
We know that some of our employees work in roles that require them to be on campus during holidays or administrative leave days. These employees and their supervisors should work together to find alternate days on which our employees can use this leave based on the scheduling needs in their unit or department.
We continue to be grateful for all you do, and wish you all joy and rejuvenation during the holiday season.
Sincerely,
Philip DiStefano, chancellor
Russell Moore, provost
Patrick O’Rourke, chief operating officer
