- Olympic excitement is in the air, and we took the opportunity to ask Buffs on campus what sport they'd compete in if they were Olympians.
- Six individuals on the men's and women's cross-country teams, and the teams themselves, made the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's all-academic standings for the 2017 season.
- Former CU head basketball coach for 22 seasons, Barry led the Buffs to four regular-season Big Eight championships, four Big Eight Tournament championships, one Big 12 Tournament championship, 12 NCAA tournaments and more.
- CU has a proud history at the Olympics, and this year's Winter Games in Pyeongchang are no exception. Bringing honor to their teams, themselves and to CU will be a number of current Buffs and alumni.
- The athletes will be honored for outstanding 2017 performances: Sarah Brown, lacrosse; Petra Hyncicova, skiing; Dani Jones, cross-country; Kennedy Leonard, basketball; Alexa Smith, volleyball; and Jalen Tompkins, soccer.
- Joanne Reid, the 2013 NCAA freestyle champion for the Colorado Buffalo ski team, was recently named to the 2018 U.S. Olympic Team in the sport of biathlon.
- Former Colorado star and current New England Patriots tackle Nate Solder is now in line to win his third Super Bowl ring, adding to the hardware he picked up in 2014 and 2016.
- A senior on campus, heading to Pyeongchang, Petra Hyncicova will become the 36th CU ski team member to make it to the Olympics.
- Announced Wednesday on ESPN, former CU women's basketball head coach Ceal Barry is one of 10 finalists to be possibly inducted to the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2018.
- The Pac-12 Conference has named 18 Buffs to the All-Academic Teams, an honor reserved for those with minimum 3.0 GPAs and who are starters or significant contributors to their teams.
