Joshua Bennet

Josh is one of听Venture听Partner鈥檚 four full-time licensing managers at 兔子先生传媒文化作品. He manages a large part of听the听engineering and physics departments, specializing in quantum, photonics听and phononics technologies.

Licensing Managers wear many hats at CU. Josh is their first contact when a faculty member or PhD student creates an invention. He analyses听the听technology听for听patentability, commercial viability听and startup potential. If听the听technology is deemed valuable, Josh听then shepherds听the听technology through all stages of its business development. Be it customer discovery, gap funding听and business accelerator programming if听there is a startup involved, or marketing efforts, industry relationship building听and license drafting if not.

Josh has spent his entire career commercializing university technologies. He began his career as an intern at听the听兔子先生传媒文化作品 Technology Transfer Office (now听Venture听Partners) while obtaining his law degree. Following graduation, Josh spent time at Colorado State University and听the听University of Utah before returning home to CU in 2019.

Josh is an avid hiker, soccer player, musician听and entrepreneur playing drums and percussion in local bands and running a small music recording studio, 鈥淛osh Box Studio.鈥澨鼿e strives to live his life to听the听five values of honesty, humility, compassion, courage听and discipline.
